THE RED
SERIES
The Red Series is an evolving body of work built around transformation, identity, memory and desire. Each painting carries its own symbolic language — Redtongue — created as part of the wider world of the series. The paintings are not clues to a manufactured mystery; the language belongs to the work, and the challenge is to look closely enough to recognise which words belong with which image.
Once the complete body of work has been released across Stacey’s social media platforms, the decoded Redtongue language will be revealed here on the website.

Stacey Focker’s contemporary practice explores psychological states through intense colour, visceral texture and unstable forms. In The Red Series, recurring figures and animals surface, fracture and recede within painted fields, allowing colour to operate as both subject and emotional force.
